Rebel Yell

Yes indeed, he sometimes cries...

Playtime!

Jasper has a new favorite way to see the world (thanks to Kerri for showing us this hold).

Shhhhh, I'm napping.

Jasper was 5 weeks old last Friday! I'd like to officially thank my company, Barr Engineering Company, for allowing me to have an extended maternity leave. I cannot imagine that some people have to go back to work after six weeks! We are just getting things figured out as a family, I can't imagine leaving him in someone else's care. I think the Scandinavians have it figured out here and the United States needs to step it up. I am so thankful that I get to have this time with Jasper and I don't take a day of it for granted.

There comes a day in every man's life...

when he has to wear pants!

Jasper wore pants for the first time last week. Here's his 4-week turtle picture...

Jasper is a month old tomorrow! I have no idea where the time has gone. He is growing and changing every day. He's started to smile (which I have yet to catch in a picture- the downside of digital camera delays!) and is making more talking noises. He loves to go for walks in his sling and hates to sit still when he's awake. He likes to listen to singing and humming. He loves to look at faces, read his black and white book, and watch mobiles. Oh, the life of a one-month old!

On our second family outing thus far, we attended my Aunt Sharon's retirement party at the local Elk's Club.

Keegan (9 months old) and Kerri came over for a visit! Keegan was very worried when J-bird cried.

Grandma Sandy has been helping me (a lot!) with Jasper care as Jim has been back at work full-time. Thank you Mom!
Jim and my Dad built some stairs for our garage and a retaining wall this weekend. Thank you for the help Dad!

Uncle Erick and Jasper. Auntie Andrea had the magic touch and Jasper slept in her arms for hours.

Just another doggie day at the Filby Williams house!

I guess it means you're a mom when...

We had a blizzard last Friday! The power and heat went off at 4:30 a.m. and I was sure Jasper was going to freeze... hence the smartwool socks on his hands, two sleepers, and a hat. Don't worry, the temperature only got down to 67 degrees in our house. Jasper however, nearly roasted.

Next mom stop, licking my finger and cleaning his face.

Bear enjoyed his last big snow of the season (we hope!).

He's got something to say...

Pop, Nana and Grand Aunt Nancy Ann

More pics of Harley, Jon, and Nancy Ann's visit! They are flying out one day early since there is a blizzard warning on Friday (so much for spring!). Jasper has so enjoyed spending time with them! And Nancy Ann has earned a very special place in Bear's heart as she has a habit of "dropping" cheese while cooking. (:

April snowstorms bring May flowers?

In spite of the cold and snowy weather...

Grandpa Jon (Pop), Grandma Harley (Nana), and Grand Aunt Nancy Ann arrived on Friday! They were excited to meet the little one. We are convinced that Jon has figured out how to hypnotize Jasper...

Brotherly love.

Stealing an idea from a friend, Jasper will be photographed with this same turtle as he grows to help compare size. There's an earlier picture of him with this turtle in a previous post.

Jasper in his Park Ranger outfit.

Baby-wearing Papa!

He's still so little, but growing!

Baby weighing time!

Off the Charts

Starting his career of being above average (no pressure son), Jasper is officially off the charts for height at his age at the doc today. Wilt Chamberlain, here we come! His weight and head size are in the 70th percentile. We are working on those.

We are looking forward to Friday when Jasper's grandparents and grand aunt from Maryland arrive to meet the little guy!

I know, I know, why post without pictures? I'll get a guy on that.
