Little Reija and Big Brother Jasper

More details about Reija! She was born at 6 a.m. Sunday morning. My water had broken on Saturday afternoon (in the process of selling Jim's car- good timing!)- we were exactly 39 weeks. We went home and chilled (and finally packed those bags)- waiting for labor to start. Contractions started but weren't too regular. They wanted us in the hospital since my water had broken so we headed in that evening. I slept off and on through contractions through a good chunk of the night- had about 2 hours of really intense contractions, and then she was born! I didn't believe these myths about the second baby coming so much easier but holy cow it was true for me. Like her brother, Reija was born naturally without any pain medications (though I was considering it this time- labor just went too fast!).

Jasper is slowly adjusting to being a big brother. Reija was crying last night when Jasper was getting ready for bed and he said "maybe she needs her big brother" and came down to give her a kiss. Such a sweetie.

Grandma, Grandpa, Jasper, Erick, Andrea and Eli came to visit at the hospital. Jasper wasn't too excited about the whole thing at that point. Eli thought her hat was cool.

She looks a lot like Jasper. A lot. I keep seeing the same movements and expressions. And they have the same very long toes!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Day-After-Thanksgiving to all! We are thankful every day for our wonderful friends and family. We have many things for which to be thankful. Jasper did some art at school that said he was thankful for his "toys and the new baby."

Thanksgiving snow! Jasper is also thankful for his dump truck- which he pushed all over the yard in the snow.

For the first time- Jasper thought it was fun to be pulled in the sled! (well, until Jim took a corner too fast and dumped him face-first in the snow)...

The Family

The 38.5 week belly. We had an ultrasound this past Wednesday and she looked cozy in her home (and we did reconfirm that babe is a girl- that was good to hear!)

Fall into Winter

We got our first real snow this weekend! Jasper and I made a snowman. Add that to the list of things I was not doing at 37 weeks pregnant the last time around! Jasper named him Frosty.

Jim sorting through girl clothes (sample conversation: Jim: "what is this?", me: "ummm... those are tights, just pretend they are long underwear.")... Yea for hand-me-downs- thank you Kristin!

And this is how long since my last real post- here are our Trick-or-Treaters on Halloween... Tigger (Jasper), Elmo (Eli), and Firefighter (Keegan). They had a blast!

Trick or Treat- the boys went up to the doors themselves! Jasper didn't quite get that he should leave after one piece of candy and would hang out for more. It actually worked a couple times...

Jasper and his jack-o-lantern. He wanted him to have a funny face.
